Blackboard tree (scientific name: Alstonia scholaris), also known as elephant tree, lamp tree, sugar gum tree, milkwood, demon tree, etc., belongs to the oleander tree (Alstonia). Originally produced in South Asia, where the temperature is high and humid, the material of the wood is soft and delicate, and it can be a blackboard material, so it is called a blackboard tree. Another legend: its species name is meant to be a scholar, and scholars need to use a blackboard for teaching, so it is called a blackboard tree. The crown is nearly elliptical, the branches are rotated step by step, and yellow and white flowers are opened in summer. The back is light green, smooth and hairless. The fruit is a slender pod, so it is also called a noodle tree.
