[Phycocyanin] Spirulina extract Phycocyanin is a dark blue powder isolated from spirulina with beautiful color. It is both a protein and an excellent natural food coloring, as well as a good health food.
[English name] phycocyanin
[Properties] Blue powder. Dissolved in water
[Ingredients] porphyrin pigment protein in cyanobacteria
[Product Specifications] UV 25%
[Color Price] E18
The Application of Phycocyanin
(1) Natural food coloring: water-soluble pigment, non-toxic, pure blue, clear and lovely, can be used as an additive for food colorants and cosmetics.
(2) Medicine and health food: The in vitro experiment has the effect of stimulating the formation of red blood cell colonies, similar to erythropoietin (EPO). A variety of phycocyanin compound drugs have been successfully developed abroad, and the Japanese Kangpai AIDS Research Institute has successfully reported phycocyanin to improve anemia and improve hemoglobin. In 1982, Iijima et al studied the oral phycocyanin in mice to increase the survival rate of mice injected with liver tumor cells, and the lymphocyte activity of the experimental group was significantly higher than that of the control. They believed that the protein has immune and anti-disease functions. In 1986, Harvard Hospital of the United States Schwartz and Shklar found that spirulina phycocyanin inhibited some cancer cells.
(3) Special reagents for biological, chemical and cytological experiments: phycocyanin blue and fluorescent, can be used as some photodynamic research reagents in biology and cytology. Another effect of phycocyanin is the fluorescer.
Effect and Role of Phycocyanin
The phycocyanin can help regulate and synthesize many important enzymes required for human metabolism, and it plays an important role in inhibiting the growth of cancer cells and promoting the regeneration of human cells, maintaining the ovaries, and promoting the synthesis of elastin in human body. At the same time, phycocyanin regulates the human body. The immune system enhances the immune system's function and improves the body's resistance to disease. Therefore, phycocyanin is hailed as a “food diamond” by food experts. It has a good effect in the following aspects.
1.Anti-cancer, anti-tumor.
The phycocyanin has been shown to inhibit cancer cell expansion. Scientists have found that phycocyanin has a significant inhibitory effect on cancer cells. Can be made into anti-tumor adjuvant therapy, adjuvant therapy with chemotherapy can enhance the body's immunity. In a scientific experiment, rats fed liver cancer with extracted phycocyanin found that the survival rate of rats fed phycocyanin was much higher than that of the control group, and after 5 weeks, 90% of the rats in the treatment group Live, while the untreated group survived only 25%. After 8 weeks, 25% of the rats in the treatment group survived and the rats in the untreated group died. This suggests that oral phycocyanin can increase the survival rate of organisms with cancer.
2.Anti-oxidation, scavenging free radicals.
The phycocyanin can promote cell activity, eliminate free radicals in the body, improve ovarian function, and promote rapid synthesis of elastin. According to scientific research, phycocyanin has the effect of stimulating the formation of red blood cell colonies, similar to erythropoietin (epo); regulating white blood cells and increasing lymphocyte activity; increasing physical fitness, promoting red blood cell growth, enhancing immune function and promoting growth development.
3.Anti-allergy
The research team of the Taiwan University published a new study on January 7 and found that purified phycocyanin has inhibitory effects on all allergies.
